The year-round school for adult students is located in a newly renovated, centrally located building close to the Belvedere Palace. It is a modern school with 6 bright, welcoming, tastefully furnished classrooms in a typically Viennese Art Nouveau building. Centrally located in Vienna’s embassy district, opposite “Schloss Belvedere”, and within 15 minutes from the city center (Stephansplatz) by public transportation. The school also has a multimedia room featuring 17 workplaces with computers and free internet access. Free Wi-Fi is available in the whole school. Newspapers, magazines, DVDs and CDs may be borrowed from the school library. A student lounge is available with coffee, cold beverages and snacks. The building is air conditioned and non-smoking. 10-15 additional classrooms are located next door at the ActiLingua-Dependance Sacré Coeur and are used during the summer high season.

Actilingua – German Courses in Vienna
Minimum age: 16 years old. Maximum number of students per class: 12. Each lesson is 45 minutes long. Prices include number of lessons as listed below, vocabulary book, use of multimedia room, e-mail and internet WiFi access, student manual, Actilingua Card entitling students to discounts around town and Actilingua Certificate of completion. Course books may be borrowed free of charge or purchased at a 50% discount from the school.
Standard German Course – Group 8 to 12 –— 20 German lessons a week plus 5 cultural lessons. 12 students maximum per class. All levels from beginner to advanced are offered. Private German Courses — 10 or 20 Private German lessons per week. One-to-one training where the content of the course as well as the tempo is personalized according to the student‘s needs and wishes. Students are afforded the maximum amount of flexibility and individual support. Private German courses start every Monday for all levels from Beginner to Advanced.

2023 Starting dates for all Group German Courses in Vienna: Intermediate and Advanced students may start any Monday. Complete beginners MUST start on the following dates: 2 January / 30 January / 27 February / 27 March / 2 May / 5 June / 3 July / 31 July / 4 September / 2 October / 30 October / 27 November.
Holidays 2023 – The school is closed on the following dates, classes missed due to holidays are not made up: 6 January, 10 April, 1 May, 18 May, 29 may, 8 June, 15 August, 26 October, 1 November, 8 December and 25-26 December 2023, 1 January 2024. Classes lost due to holidays are NOT made up.
Actilingua Vienna Accommodations
Housing is available in home stays, school residence (available year round), student residences (not operated by the school and available from July to September only!), or apartment shares. Host families and apartment shares are located approximately 20-40 minutes away from the school via public transportation. School residence is located 10 minutes away by subway.
NEW! School Residence: Actilingua now offers accommodations in a residence located in a quiet location next to the U3 subway and close to the school and the city center (10-15 minutes by subway). The residence, occupying a typical Viennese Art Nouveau building, has been fully renovated, and offers standard and superior apartments for single or double occupancy. The apartments are modern and comfortably furnished. All apartments are equipped with telephone, radio, SAT-TV and free WLAN/Wi-Fi, and a fully equipped kitchen. Standard apartments are shared with 2-5 students and are cleaned twice a week. Superior apartments are for individual use (or 2 persons traveling together), with private bathroom, individual kitchen and are cleaned daily from Monday to Friday. NOTES: high season surcharge from 2 July to 26 August 2023: ADD USD 86 per week! There is a refundable deposit of 110 Euros required upon arrival, deposit will be returned when the keys are returned at the end of your stay.

Actilingua Vienna – Activities
On the first Monday after arrival, the school offers an introductory sightseeing tour of Vienna. The school welcomes students with a party that includes an introduction to the Viennese Waltz by an experienced teacher.
Weekend Excursions: Actilingua organizes weekend excursions to famous European cities not far from Vienna: Salzburg, the city of Mozart; Budapest, the capital of Hungary; and “golden” Prague, the capital of Czechoslovakia. Additional trips are offered to other beautiful locations on the Danube such as the monastery at Melk, the “Wachau” (the Danube Valley), trips into the mountains or boating. Prices for excursions typically range from approximately 10 to 70 Euros each.
Sports: There is easy access by subway to swimming facilities, cycling, sailing, surfing and water skiing on the Viennese Donauinsel (island in the Danube). Once a week, sports-minded participants and teachers meet for football, volleyball or aerobics.
Airport Transfer: from Vienna airport is available upon request and at additional cost: USD 60 one way or USD 120 round trip.
