IS Aix-en-ProvenceThis French Language institute is an international language school specializing in French as a foreign language offering courses in Aix-en-Provence since 1972. It belongs to International Language Schools, a Swedish association affiliated with the University of Stockholm. International Schools has established centers in Europe to allow its students to learn a language in the country where it is spoken. The French Language school is located in a charming 2 story house at the edge of the historical center of town ( a 2 minute walk from the Palais de Justice). It features 15 comfortable classrooms equipped with audio and video projection screens, a multi media room with e-mail access and CD Roms in French, a common room with a library and a small kitchen, and an outdoor patio perfect for relaxing and socializing during the warmer months. The multilingual administrative staff is always ready to assist students with general information, reservations for excursions, car rentals, airline and railway tickets, and happy to provide suggestions for some of the many wonderful restaurants and cafes in town.

General French Plus Course (FG+) --- 30 French lessons per wk. Maximum of 10 students per class (maximum of 6 in the afternoon sessions). Elementary to advanced French Language levels only. You will be trained to present your product or your firm, to discuss and negotiate in French. The size of the group allows for very intensive work. Pre-requisite: intermediate level of French. French Language and Gastronomy: 2 week course. Combination of General French group course (20 lessons per week), with 15 hours of afternoon activities during the two week period including guided tour of the city, introduction to Provencal cooking lecture, wine and cheese tasting, visits to a vineyard and olive oil mill, and 3 afternoons of hands-on cooking classes. Minimum elementary French level required. Price: 2 weeks: USD 1,850. Starting dates 2012: 13 February, 10 April, 18 June, 10 September, 5 November.
French Language and Wine: 2 week course. Combination of General French group course (20 lessons per week), with 15 hours of afternoon wine classes during the 2 week period. Activities included: guided tour of the city, wine tasting, the French Appellations system, food and wine selections and visits to a vineyard. All classes include wine tasting. Price: 2 weeks: USD 1,650. Starting dates 2012: 8 October.
French Language and Painting 2011: 2 week course. Combination of General French group course (20 lessons per week), with 6 afternoon painting classes (fusain and oil) of 2 1/2 hours each during the two weeks (includes guided tour of the city and test). All French language levels accepted. Price 2011: 2 weeks: USD 1,770. Starting dates 2011: 7 November. Minimum elementary French level required. (NO beginners) The format for this course will change for 2012: French Language and Painting 2012: Must be booked in combination with the General French group course (20 lessons per week). 12 hours of painting classes in the afternoon over a two week period (fusain and oil). All French language levels accepted. It can be booked at any time of the year. Fees for the painting course are payable directly to the provider in Euros upon arrival. Price 2012: 2 weeks: 440 Euros plus a booking fee of USD 75.00 which will be added to the price of General French course. Starting dates 2012: Any week of the year upon request.
Holidays 2012 - No classes are held on: 1 January, 9 April, 1 May, 8 May, 17 May, 28 May, 14 July, 15 August, 1 November. Classes missed due to holidays are made up during the same week of the holiday.

Activities The Institute can arrange for Golf, painting lessons, wine tasting and French cooking lessons at discounted rates. Green fees and lesson charges are the responsibility of the participants. A free guided tour of the city is given on the first afternoon of the course. Every week the center also arranges a social activity free of charge (petanque, lectures, slide presentations, etc.)
