IS Aix-en-ProvenceThis institute is an international language school specializing in French as a foreign language offering courses in Aix-en-Provence since 1972. It belongs to International Language Schools, a Swedish association affiliated with the University of Stockholm. International Schools has established centers in Europe to allow its students to learn a language in the country where it is spoken. The institute is located in a charming 2 story house at the edge of the historical center of town ( a 2 minute walk from the Palais de Justice). Professional French --- Duration: 2 weeks, 35 lessons per week. 2-4 students per group. Price 2008: 2 wks: USD 2,995. Strictly reserved for professionals requiring French in their jobs. You will be trained to present your product or your firm, to discuss and negotiate in French. The size of the group allows for very intensive work. Pre-requisite: intermediate level of French. Private French Lessons --- One-to One. USD 83 per hour, plus a one time USD 104 processing fee. (Discounts apply for 20 or more lessons.) French Teachers Refresher Courses --- 6 to 10 teachers per group. 2 or 4 week course. 24 lessons + class observations. This course has been developed for French teachers wishing to refresh their knowledge of French society, culture and language while being trained in practical teaching ideas on new methods and materials. Prices 2008: 2 weeks: USD 1,050, 4 weeks: USD 1,975. Starting dates 2008: 21 July, 28 July or 4 August (2 weeks only). NEW: These new courses will have limited space available for them! Please enroll early! French Language and Gastronomy: 2 week course. Combination of General French group course (20 lessons per week), with 15 hours of afternoon activities during the two week period including guided tour of the city, introduction to Provencal cooking lecture, wine and cheese tasting, visits to a vineyard and olive oil mill, and 3 afternoons of hands-on cooking classes. Minimum elementary French level required. Price 2008: 2 weeks: USD 1,804. Starting dates 2008: 17 March, 26 May, 4 August, 13 October. French Language and Wine: 2 week course. Combination of General French group course (20 lessons per week), with 15 hours of afternoon wine classes during the 2 week period. Activities included: guided tour of the city, wine tasting, the French Appellations system, food and wine selections and visits to a vineyard. All classes include wine tasting. Minimum intermediate French level required. Price 2008: 2 weeks: USD 1,620. Starting dates 2008: 27 October. French Language and Painting: 2 week course. Combination of General French group course (20 lessons per week), with 6 afternoon painting classes (fusain and oil) of 2 1/2 hours each during the two weeks (includes guided tour of the city and test). All French language levels accepted. Minimum intermediate French level required. Price 2008: 2 weeks: USD 1,764. Starting dates 2008: 4 February, 12 May, 21 July, 15 September. (beginners accepted on 15 September only!). Holidays 2008 - No classes are held on: 1 Jan, 24 March, 1 May, 8 May, 14 July, 15 August, 1 November, 11 November, 25 and 26 December. Activities The Institute can arrange for Golf, painting lessons, wine tasting and French cooking lessons at discounted rates. Green fees and lesson charges are the responsibility of the participants. A free guided tour of the city is given on the first afternoon of the course. Every week the center also arranges a social activity free of charge (petanque, lectures, slide presentations, etc.)
