The city is alive 24 hours a day, full of "tascas" and pubs where people love to socialize whenever they have a chance. This is a city for art lovers and party goers.

Estudio Sampere

Estudio Sampere has four schools offering full immersion Spanish language programs in Spain at the following locations: Madrid, Salamanca, Puerto de Santa Maria and Alicante. Their full immersion Spanish courses are conducted in the same fashion at each place, following  the same curriculum and using the same materials making it possible to combine Spanish language courses at any of their locations (perfect for those looking for variety of locations without detriment to their Spanish language learning!).

Estudio Sampere is a well-known Spanish language center established in 1956.  All Sampere schools offer individual attention in small classes, quality teaching in a friendly environment, qualified Spanish teachers, up-to-date materials, an international atmosphere, flexible starting dates, social and cultural activities and a choice of excellent value accommodations. Estudio Sampere is committed to quality - a key factor in their long-lasting success. Their books and teaching material have all been developed in-house, taking into consideration the latest teaching methods as well as the experience of more than 40 years of teaching Spanish as a foreign language. All five schools meet the quality criteria that international organizations expect and demand. The center in Madrid has a permanent team of qualified Spanish teachers. It is located in one of the most elegant, traditional districts of Madrid: El barrio de Salamanca. Estudio Sampere Madrid has 16 air-conditioned classrooms, a common area, video-room, a library and it has been recently refurbished.  Several bus lines and 2 subway stations nearby make it easily accessible from any area of Madrid. Retiro Park (a must for a visit!) is just one block away and  the Prado museum as well as several other important monuments are within walking distance.  This  center hosts over 1000 foreign students and four hundred Spanish students a year. It is also a founding member of IALC (International Association of Language Centers),  a member of various chambers of commerce, it has received the CEELE seal of approval through the University of Alcala and it is an Instituto Cervantes Accredited Center. N.B:  The Estudio Sampere school in Madrid was last visited and inspected by Lingua Service in May 2006.

All prices include: number of Spanish lessons as specified, teaching materials (text book is given on loan only, but may be purchased at end of the course if desired!), internet access, many social events and certificate of completion.  Prices include 4 cultural lessons per week! Please Note:  in order to keep costs down, health insurance coverage is no longer included in the course prices but it is available as an option at an additional cost of USD 40 per month.

Intensive Spanish Course - Group 9 -- Maximum of 9 students per class. 20 Spanish lessons per week, + 4 hours of cultural lessons weekly.  Prices:   1 week:  USD386;  2 weeks: USD 667;  3 wks:  USD 971;   4  wks: USD 1,224;  6 wks: USD 1,661;  8 wks: USD 1,958.       

Intensive Long Term Spanish Course -  Group 9: "Spanish for Life":   Maximum of 9 students per class. 20 Spanish lessons per week, + 4 hours of cultural lessons weekly. Prices: 12 weeks: USD 2,670;   16 wks: USD 3,560;   24 wks: USD 5,340.

Super Intensive Spanish Course - Group 9 -- A more intensive version of the Intensive Group 9 course.   Maximum of 9 students per class in group portion of program. 30 group Spanish lessons per week, + 4 hours of cultural Spanish lessons. Prices: 1 week: USD 541;  2 weeks: USD 1,015;   Extra weeks: USD 458 each. 

Intensive PLUS  Spanish Course - Group 9 plus Private lessons -- Maximum of 9 students per class in group portion of program. 20 group Spanish lessons per week, + 4 hours of cultural Spanish lessons  PLUS 10 One-to One Spanish lessons weekly. Prices:  1 week:  USD 927;  2 weeks: USD 1,760,  3 wks: USD 2,608;   4  wks: USD 3,406.

Starting Dates 2009: Beginners an low-elementary levels must start on the following dates, all others may start any Monday. Long term "Spanish for Life" may only start on these dates also:

Holidays 2009 in Madrid:  6 Jan., 10 April, 1 May, 15 May, 14 August, 12 October, 2 November, 8 December, 18 December. School will be closed from 18 December 2009 until 3 January 2010 (except for One-to-One courses!). Classes lost due to Holidays are NOT made up.  One-to-One courses WILL be offered during Christmas time.

Accommodation Prices 2009

Accommodations are available in selected host families, shared apartments with other students, apartment-hotel and hotels. Host family prices include laundry once per week.   Half board includes breakfast and dinner from Monday to Friday and all meals on weekends. Full board includes three meals per day all week.

Host Family-- Single Room, Half Board: USD 289 per week;  Full Board: USD 340 per week.

Host Family-- Double Room, Half Board: USD 252 per week; Full Board: USD 300 per week.

Apartment Share, single room, no meals:  USD 215 first week;  USD 178 each additional week.

Apart-hotel, Studio apartment, no meals: 1  week: USD 690;  2 weeks: USD 1,230.  **

Hostal Benamar (2 stars), includes tax, private bathroom, internet access:  approx. USD 62 per night deluxe room single occupancy, USD 80 per night deluxe room double occupancy. **

Activities

Social and cultural activities are provided weekly. Nearly every Saturday of the year, there are full day excursions to historical towns and sights in towns near Madrid ---Toledo, Segovia and El Escorial. There are also escorted tours to the world famous El Prado, Modern Art Museums and others.
