Colegio de Espaņa Salamanca

Colegio de Espaņa Salamanca offers courses at two separate locations where to learn Spanish in the city: the main office and a few of the classrooms occupy part of a convent which is housed in an old historical building (pictured below). The main entrance opens up into a courtyard garden with fruit trees and flowers. The classrooms are large but basic. Although the premises lack modern amenities, the center makes up for it with the high quality of the instruction and the characteristic charm of a centuries old building.   Additional classrooms are located 2 blocks away along the same street in more modern and functional facilities.  Both buildings are located in the center of town within a 2 minute walk of the Plaza Mayor.

Spanish Language Courses 2009:

Standard Spanish Course - Group 13 (max of 16 in July)-- Year Round--20 lessons per week.  2 weeks: USD 417.   3 weeks: USD 579.  4 weeks: USD 742.   8 weeks: USD 1,306.   12 weeks: USD 1,854.  (Prices do not include books which must be bought in Salamanca.  Price approx.: 25 Euros per month)

Intensive Spanish Course - Group 11 (Max of 11 students per class) - - Year Round -- 25 lessons per week. Beginners take 25 hours of Spanish language, Intermediate and Advanced students take 20 hours of Spanish language and 5 hours of Spanish and Hispano-American Civilization course.  The price is the same for both courses. 2 weeks: USD 455.   3 weeks:  USD 618.   4 weeks: USD 803.    8 weeks: USD 1,390.    (Prices do not include books which must be bought on-site. Price approx.: 25 Euros per month).

One on One Spanish Lessons --- Private lessons.  30 Lessons per week.   1 week: USD 1150.    2 weeks: USD 1,900.     3 weeks:  USD 2,611.    4 weeks: USD 3,182.

Spanish Courses Starting dates 2009:

Intermediate and advanced levels may begin any Monday. Complete beginners must start on the following dates:

Holidays 2009: 1 January, 10 April, 1 May. 12 June, 14 August, 12 October, 2 November, 8 December, 18 December.

Accommodations  2009:

Host Family --- Single room with half board (2 meals per day):    2 wks: USD 386,   3 wks: USD 570.   4 wks: USD 754.    Extra weeks:   USD 184 each.   (Optional laundry service:   USD 29 every 2 weeks)

Host Family --- Single room with full board:     2 wks: USD 419.   3 wks: USD 619.   4 wks: USD 819.   Extra weeks:  USD 200 each.  (Optional laundry service:  USD 37 every 2 weeks)

Apartment shares --- Single room: from USD 326 per month (price varies depending upon size and location). Optional use of washing machine:   USD 68 per month)

Activities

In addition to regular activities provided by the school, the following are available as optional lessons at private centers: dancing lessons, horseback riding, sailing (15 day course), wind surfing. The golf course is about 20 miles away (just for playing, no lessons).
