Spanish Courses in Buenos Aires at Expanish
The Expanish Language School offers Spanish courses in downtown Buenos Aires. Located on a pedestrian street, it is an ideal location to study and use as a home base to explore the city. There are many cafes, restaurants, shopping malls, theaters and important landmarks like the Casa Rosada and the Obelisk nearby. The nearest subway stop is about one block away, making travel to other parts of the city easy.
The school is housed on a historic building built in the 1920s that was completely remodeled in 2014. The facilities include a receptions area, 16 modern classrooms, two student common areas (multipurpose room and cafeteria), and computer area for student use. The school has central heating and AC, and free Wi-Fi. Snacks and coffee are available for sale at the school cafe. The premises are handicapped accessible.
Expanish has an extensive selection process for their highly qualified teachers. All teachers are native Spanish speakers and are required to have a minimum of a university degree and a certificate to teach Spanish as a foreign language, and/or have sufficient teaching experience. They are evaluated often and regularly participate in training workshops coordinated by the Director of Studies.
Expanish teachers use the communicative method where students will learn by doing rather than memorizing grammar or completing fill-in-the-blank worksheets. Spanish is the only language used in class, so students will be speaking and communicating beginning their very first day, and the focus is on the four language skills: reading, writing, speaking and oral comprehension. Students are evaluated every week with either a project or formal exam and provided feedback.
