Intensive French Course - 7 students max. per class  - 26 lessons per week (each lesson 45 minutes):   1 week**:  USD 865.  2 weeks: USD 1,120.   4 weeks: USD 2,078.  Extra wks: USD 471.   LONG TERM:  12 wks: USD 5,284.

** 1 Week courses are not available between 3 July and 25 August. One week course also includes 3 private lessons in addition to group schedule !

Starting Dates 2008:

Complete beginners may only start only on BOLD  dates. All others may start any Monday EXCEPT during July and August, when 2 week minimum applies and all students must start on dates listed below!.   Long Term 12 week course starts on 6 January, 30 March*, 29 June or 21 September 2008.  Dates listed are ARRIVAL dates, courses start on Monday.  (30 March is a special 13 week course offered at the 12 week price!)

Holidays 2008:   No classes will be held on the following holidays: : 24 March, 1 May, 8 May, 12 May, 14 July, 15 August, 11 November. The school is closed between 13 December 2008 and 1 January 2009.

Other courses offered:   One-to-One Lessons:  Start any  Monday of the year.  Prices 2008:  15 lessons per week: USD 1506 per week.   20 lessons per week: USD 2009 per week.  25 lessons per week: USD 2511 per week.

Accommodations 2008:

Host Family: (Private room, half board) 1st week: USD 323.  Additional weeks: USD 263 each.

Apartments:  Fully equipped and comfortable studio or one-bedroom apartment (telephone, television, etc.). Weekly maid and linen service is included. Laundry facilities are also available. All studios and apartments are located in the centre of Tours within walking distance of CLE.   Furnished studio apartments:  USD 1590 per month.   One Bedroom apartments:  USD 2192 per month.

Bed & Breakfast in a Chateau:  (outside of town!) Single room, private bathroom. One week: USD 1142.  Additional weeks: USD 1082.

Hotels also available upon request.   Prices vary depending on size and location.

Activities

A tour is provided for students arriving at the beginning of a regular session, including a free guided tour of the city, its monuments and historical restorations. In addition, CLE organizes weekly visits to the famous chateaux of the Loire Valley: Chambord, Chenonceau, Azay-le-Rideau, etc. Other visits include Chinon, where Joan of Arc recognized the future king of France, Charles VII, the Abbey of Fontevraud, as well as the homes of Ronsard, Balzac, and Leonardo da Vinci. There will be opportunities to taste the famous wines of Vouvray, Montlouis, Bourgueil and Chinon in local cellars. Visits are also organized to Versailles, Mont-Saint-Michel, Chartes Cathedral and La Rochelle. (Excursions, sports and evenings out are not included in the course fees.)
